Happy 2020 from Kew little Pigs
A PIG WELCOME BACK!
After a very festive break, the KLP team is back at the farm making sure everything is in place for 2020. We officially open for business on January 3rd, 2020.
As we welcome a new decade, we have been reflecting over 2019, which has undoubtedly been our most successful year to date.
As a small business, we are thriving, celebrating our third year in profit, a momentous achievement for a business that was started by one woman in her back garden in Kew almost 10 years ago.
Celebrating the year of the Pig, we started 2019 shooting for the Royal Mint coin in honour of the Chinese year, saw the launch of the Hendrix Gin campaign that featured our show pig, Mia, said goodbye to our newly appointed Marketing manager Michelle (who went on maternity leave in Feb 2019 returning in Nov 2019) and welcomed back longstanding KLP Office Manager Amy from her mat leave. We joined the travel writer T.R Todd at the exclusive world book launch of his new travel book 'Pigs of Paradise', a book KLP feature in and throughout the year we've travelled to events and parties across the country, visiting weddings, work events and birthdays.
In summer 2019 we launched our new corporate offering aimed at businesses as reward incentives and staff training days and will continue to market these throughout 2020.
Staff wise, our farmhand Alice finished her education, joining us fulltime over the summer. Since then, we've welcomed Jen our new farm manager. Jen's knowledge of animal care, coupled with her absolute devotion to animals has made her a very valuable member of the team. We've also- for the first time in KLP history- employed two male farmhands, Jack and Ryan, who like Jen have bought with them a wealth of knowledge and expertise.
When Olivia started KLP it wasn't necessarily in her plan to have an all-female business, however, over the years KLP naturally gravitated this way, giving the ladies a great sense of achievement, as they worked to grow the company from the ground up. KLP 2019 nomination as finalists for the Best Women in Business Award for Most Inspiring Woman in Business and Best Business Women further cemented this success. It's a lovely feeling to be identified for such hard work and dedication.
Kew Little Pigs are now proud to be recognised for our contribution to the Parliamentary Review, for our partnership with various third party merchants, our expanding merchandise range and the relationships we've forged with our oversea customers. We have so much more in store for 2020 and cannot wait to share our plans!
Finally, we'd like to thank each and every one of you for your continuous support. We look forward to welcoming you all in the New Year.
Here's to the best decade yet!
Long may Kew Little Pigs be the uk's most recommended and unique miniature pig business.
