Position: Shop Assistant (4 days a week)
Salary: Minimum Wage (with future growth opportunities)

Kew Little Pigs, the UK’s leading ethical breeder of miniature pigs, is looking to expand our team! We are a multi-award-winning farm based in beautiful Old Amersham, Buckinghamshire, and we’re on the lookout for a passionate and dedicated Shop Assistant to join our growing team.

As a Shop Assistant, you will play an essential role in providing an excellent customer experience, assisting visitors, and supporting the smooth running of our on-site shop. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of our vibrant team at an exciting time of growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:

Greeting and assisting customers in the shop.
Providing product knowledge and advice about our miniature pigs and related merchandise.
Handling cash and card transactions.
Keeping the shop area clean, organised, and well-stocked.
Assisting with the promotion of our ethical breeding practices and farm activities.
Supporting other team members in day-to-day tasks and contributing to a positive work environment.

Key Requirements:

Friendly, approachable, and passionate about customer service.
Enthusiastic about animals, particularly miniature pigs.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication skills.
Previous retail experience is desirable, but not essential.
Flexible and reliable, with the ability to work 4 days a week.

Millie - Head Farm Hand

“I joined the team in September of 2021 as a Farm Hand.  This was my first proper job and the experience was very insightful as working with animals there is never a dull moment. I have always loved animals and have had many different animals growing up such as guinea pigs, rabbits, dogs and horses so I knew the animal industry was a career I would like to be involved in. Since joining Kew Little Pigs Farm I have had the opportunity to care for the animals and share my knowledge with all the customers that have visited the farm. I was promoted to Head Farm Hand in January 2023.
