We are looking for a farm supervisor!

Are you ready to join our fun and friendly team, and do you have animal welfare at the heart of all you do? 

Well Kew Little Pigs is looking for a Farm Supervisor! 

Our new Farm Supervisor, which will be hired on the basis of nine months maternity cover, needs to be over 25 with driving licence and two years supervising experience of animals and staff.
Office and farm work is required and our new recruit needs to have Microsoft Word and computer literacy for planing and reporting. 
Own office space and laptop provided. 
Pay is dependant on age and experience, maternity cover for 9 months. 

Working hours are 9am to 5 pm 5 days a week including some weekend working. 

Job role: 

-Daily planning sheets for the week- Giving out tasks, dedicating tours, sorting lunches

-Morning staff meeting- going through planning, any updates to inform

-Sorting student enquiries- booking them in, sending relevant documents, putting together student induction packs, adding them to rota

-Student inductions- on first day, going through induction pack, giving tour of farm

-Student feedback forms- most completed online 

-Changing feeding guide- updating if pigs move/ need extra feeds- printing this for staff 

-Keeping pen plans up to date

-Updating pen signs- updating pictures, changing with movements, keeping in theme of term 

-Attending events- gathering event stuff before hand, deciding which pigs to take, loading van, while at event taking photos, promoting events at the farm coming up

-Organising Kid Keeper days- putting together plan for the day, keeping kids occupied 

-Checking over animals once a week- reporting any issues

-Daily farm checks at 4pm- farm staff will complete anything needed 

-Checks on farm- finding any issues/ maintenance- adding it to planning to be completed, or reporting to management 

-Tik Tok- creating content, posting videos online, doing weekly lives 

-Sorting parties onsite- creating posters, reserving tables, dressing as Kew for photos 

-Answering volunteer emails- getting them onsite to meet them, setting up inductions 

-Customer service- any issues while on site try to put right, inform management 

-Completing daily reports on weekend- staff will update daily planning 

-Complete weekly report and send to management end of the week

“I joined the team in September of 2021 as a Farm Hand.  This was my first proper job and the experience was very insightful as working with animals there is never a dull moment. I have always loved animals and have had many different animals growing up such as guinea pigs, rabbits, dogs and horses so I knew the animal industry was a career I would like to be involved in. Since joining Kew Little Pigs Farm I have had the opportunity to care for the animals and share my knowledge with all the customers that have visited the farm. I was promoted to Head Farm Hand in January 2023.
