Viewers tuning into ITV News on Thursday evening were treated to a decidedly different backdrop as weatherman and recent Celebrity Race Across the World winner Alex Beresford delivered his report from the heart of Kew Little Pigs in Amersham, Bucks, the UK’s leading micro pig attraction.
Instead of city skylines or windswept coastlines, Alex was surrounded by cute snuffling piglets, their inquisitive noses and twitching ears stealing more than a little screen time.
And the farm’s pint-sized residents ambled around his feet, providing an irresistibly wholesome twist to the daily bulletin.
The award-winning farm, known for its hands-on experiences and commitment to animal welfare, opened its gates to the ITV crew for the special broadcast. Staff said the pigs were unfazed by the cameras, happily pottering about as if live television was an everyday occurrence.
Olivia Mikhail, owner of Kew Little Pigs, said the visit had been a joy for everyone involved.
“We were absolutely delighted to welcome ITV News to the farm,” she said. “It was fantastic to see the weather forecast broadcast from Kew Little Pigs, and it was clear that Alex genuinely enjoyed the experience. He was brilliant with the pigs, completely at ease and clearly charmed by them.”
She added, “It was a real pleasure working with the crew. They were professional, friendly and respectful of the animals at all times. We’re incredibly proud that our little farm could provide such a unique setting for the nation’s weather.”
