Live music, food trucks and bouncy castles might not be what you expect from a miniature pig farm, but this July, Kew Little Pigs is throwing caution to the wind and inviting grown-ups to let their hair down.
For the first time in its history, the award-winning farm in Amersham is hosting two back-to-back adults-only summer festivals, Pig Fest on Saturday July 25 and Pig Chill on Sunday July 26, both running from 11am to 7pm.
Early booking tickets are priced at £35 per person if secured before May 24, and organisers are promising a friendly, feel-good atmosphere with a distinctly piggy twist.
Saturday’s Pig Fest is set to bring the party vibes, with a DJ spinning dance and house music, pig petting sessions between 11am and 4pm, food trucks, a bar, games, face painting and even a bouncy castle.
Sunday’s Pig Chill offers a more laid-back soundtrack, featuring live music and a DJ playing chilled tunes, alongside the same much-loved attractions, including pig petting, food, drinks and summer fun in the countryside.
Olivia Mikhail, owner of Kew Little Pigs, said the new events mark an exciting step for the farm.
“It’s incredibly exciting for us to be hosting our very first adults-only festivals here at Kew Little Pigs,” she said. “We’re well known for our family events, especially our Alice In Wonderland-themed fun days which have been a roaring success over the years, but this is the first time we’ve created something just for grown-ups.”
She added, “We wanted to offer something a little different this summer, a chance for adults to come together, enjoy great music, good food and the beautiful surroundings, all with a piggy twist. We’re hoping to attract a friendly crowd who simply want to relax, have fun in the sunshine and experience the farm in a new way.”
Despite the festival atmosphere, Olivia is keen to reassure visitors that animal welfare remains paramount.
“Our pigs’ welfare always comes first,” she said. “While guests will be able to enjoy supervised pig petting sessions during set hours, all of our animals will be safely in their enclosures during the festivities. We carefully manage noise levels and monitor the pigs closely to ensure they are comfortable at all times.”
Set on the outskirts of Old Amersham the farm has built a reputation as one of the UK’s most unique visitor attractions, drawing thousands each year to meet its miniature residents. With these new 18-plus events, it is hoping to broaden its appeal while staying true to its ethos.
“It’s about creating joyful experiences without ever compromising on the care of our animals,” Olivia added. “We can’t wait to welcome everyone for what we hope will become a highlight of the summer calendar.”
